Band Bios

Greg Byrne on vocals & guitars.  Has performed throughout the USA and Canada as both soloist and group member. Has produced 5 CD’s of Irish and Celtic Music with Guilderoy Byrne, Galloglas, and Mad Catherine and the Moondog Pirates. Father’s family immigrated to the USA from Ireland in 1842 by way of Philadelphia.  Mother’s family is Scottish.

Jared Dubree on mandolin. A multi-instrumentalist, Jared has performed with community or collegiate groups since he was 15. Most recently, he performed with the Kentucky Ensemble at Centre College across Ireland and mainland Europe. His playing style is based primarily in folk and bluegrass.

Danette Rhoads on fiddle and bodhran. Danette brings an eclectic blend of fiddle playing to Guilderoy Byrne that reflect influences of bluegrass, classical and folk music.  She has performed with Rounder Records recording artist, Tanya Savory; the Flying Dogs bluegrass band in Aspen, Colorado; Louisville-based Celtic band, Galloglass; and Skean Dubh, an Irish band based out of Denver, Colorado.  She has also written original tunes and performed at numerous music venues, including Aspen, Tanglewood and the Kentucky Folk Festival.

Brenna O’Hara Hohmann on vocals and percussion.  With family roots in the west of Ireland, Brenna grew up singing folk and Irish music with her family from a young age.  She traveled with the Kentucky Ambassadors of Music Program and studied musical theatre at the Youth Performing Arts School.  She has been a Flamenco dancer since the age of 10, performing with several local Flamenco ensembles and The Academy of Flamenco Arts.  She is excited to be celebrating her Irish heritage and love of music as a new member of Guilderoy Byrne.
